Christmas Appeal - Toys Needed

St George’s Crypt, Leeds, is currently in the process of collecting toys for their Christmas Appeal and urgently needs more toys.

The Crypt works with other organisations in and around Leeds to distribute new and nearly new toys to those who cannot afford to buy them. The toys are then given to families and children that without a donation would not get a present this Christmas.

The Crypt supplies toys for babies, toddlers and young children and also to teenagers.

Lauren Coley, who works in the fundraising team at the Crypt, said today: “We completely understand that due to the current climate, people are saving but when you are buying presents for family and friends this year, think about those who won’t get the pleasure of sitting down with family to open presents under a tree and enjoy the giving spirit of Christmas.”

She added: “As we are so close to Christmas, it is vital that we get the support of the public to help us by donating items that would be suitable to give to boys and girls aged 1-16 and bring them to the Crypt as soon as possible to be sorted and distributed accordingly.”

St George’s Crypt is a Christian charity, in Leeds, which has been providing care and support for homeless and disadvantaged people since 1930.
