Global Horizons Task Group

The Global Horizons Task Group draws together a number of people working in the diocese on issues with a global dimension, under the chairmanship of Bishop James Bell, the Bishop of Knaresborough.

Fairtrade Fortnight was held during  February/March 2011.  Resources for 2012 will be made available in due course.

Sri Lanka Link Officer, Mrs Barbara Belsham
Barbara acts as a link person between the diocese and our linked dioceses of Colombo and Kuranagala in Sri Lanka. Barbara oversees the David Young Sri Lanka Fund enabling an interchange of personnel between the dioceses.

Janet keeps the group informed of the diocesan M.U. overseas links

Sarah Fishwick is the Global Education Adviser on the Diocesan Education Team
Sarah brings to the group her work in the schools of the diocese

Adrian Alker, the Diocesan Director of Mission Resourcing
Adrian keeps the group informed of the work of the mission societies and other world church organisations.

The Group also intends to widen its interests through representation from the Middle East Focus Group, Christian Aid and the Diocesan Environment Group
